Salon services:

Lip Tattooing is a permanent, superficial solution to dull, lifeless lips that need color and shape. As we age or use dermal filler overtime, we lose the pigment in our lips resulting in a “receding lip line.” At Primp we love to help our clients create the perfect lip by enhancing shape, color, symmetry and youthfulness for their lips while keeping that natural appearance. Harsh liners, unnatural tones, & cold hues are all things of the past. Techniques we use could be compared to a watercolor or cotton candy; think of soft yet wholesome blush. Gently dispersed contour and play of shading techniques create fullness and kissable roundness. The most natural and realistic results with little to no downtime. Lips are currently one of the most sought after PMU procedures behind Microblading Eyebrows. Results last 2-5 years and fade softly into the natural lip. This is the perfect wakeup and go service…just a swipe of chapstick or gloss and you’re all set with the perfect pout!

In order for your lip tattoo to heal properly these Pre & Post Care Instructions found below are of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE.

  • Do not work out 24 hours before procedure.

  • No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before procedure.

  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure.

  • Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes (Shakeology, etc),  and “Hair, Skin, & Nail” supplements two weeks prior to procedure.

  • If you suffer from cold sores, you need to be taking acyclovir at least 3 days prior to your appointment and continue to take it 3 days after your procedure.

  • No botox in lip area or lip filler/injections 3 weeks prior to procedure.

  • Arnica Montana tablets are a homeopathic that can help with bruising and swelling and is safe to take before the procedure and right after.

  • Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle. These Pre-Care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the service.

  • Day 1: Lips will be bold and some swelling and/or bruising is possible. Wipe lips with wet cotton rounds for the first 24 hours after the procedure. This will remove any lymph and prevent scabbing. Do not let these fluids build up on your lips as it may slow healing and be painful. Do not apply healing balm in the first 24 hrs as this will cause more fluids to build up and may cause scabbing.

  • Days 2-7: Cleanse lips am/pm and apply aftercare balm with clean hands or a Q-Tip. You may apply balm as often as you like, but remember that this is a new tattoo and should be cared for like an open wound. Do not touch with unwashed fingers.

  • Lips will feel dry and some mild shedding will occur up until day 7.

  • DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring, loss of pigment, or infection.

  • Color will be quite intense following the procedure but will soften 30-60% after the first 3-5 days .

  • Arnica tablets can help to control swelling after the procedure. Some swelling and mild bruising is common and may last up to 2 days.

What to expect: Day 2: Darkest Day. Day 3: Healy Peely and Light/Tight, Day 4-5 Light and Tight, Lips will balance over the next 4 weeks and you’ll be back for touchup at week 6 once the healing process is finished.
